As followers of Christ, we follow the essential doctrines of the faith listed below. All our beliefs are grounded in scripture. Our beliefs are outlined in the Baptist Faith & Message, 2000.
We believe the Bible to be the word of God transmitted perfectly through human authors for our instruction in all things necessary for living lives pleasing to Him. Since we understand that the Bible is God’s word, we believe it to be without error, perfect in its truth and powerful in its ability to lead one to eternal salvation. We hold that the teachings of the Bible supersede all other standards of human conduct; further, we affirm that the teachings of the Bible serve as the final word in our beliefs and our conduct.
(Psalms 19:7-10; 119:11, 105; Jeremiah 15:16; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
We affirm that there is one living God and that He is the Creator of all that exists. We believe that He is bound by neither time nor space, rightfully ruling over all things as the Sovereign Lord of all existence. We believe that He is perfectly holy and righteous and fully deserving of all worship. He is one being existing in three equal but distinct persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Chronicles 29:10; 1 Timothy 1:17; John 1:1-8; John 4:24; John 16:7-14)
We believe that man was initially created in holiness, created uniquely in the image of God. However, through disobedience to the direct command of his maker, man fell from his initial state and now exists separated from his God with a natural inclination toward evil. This separation involves all mankind so that none are free from it and all are in need of deliverance from the destruction it brings. In the Scriptures, disobedience to God is termed sin, and the inclination to continue in disobedience is known as the sin nature.
(Genesis 1:26-30; 2:18-22; 3; Romans 1:19-32; 3:10-18, 23; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22)
We believe that salvation is by grace alone and that man in his fallen state can in no way gain it for himself. If we are to be delivered from our fallen, sinful existence, this deliverance must be brought by someone other than ourselves. Thus, we believe that the Son of God, through perfect obedience to the Father, has fully paid the penalty for our sins and enabled us, by placing our faith in Him, to know our God in a real, personal and intimate way. We further believe that this salvation delivers from the future judgment of God against sin and assures us of eternal life in His presence.
(Genesis 3:15; Matthew 1:21; John 1:11-14; Ephesians 2:8-22; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; Hebrews 9:24-28; 1 John 1:6-2:11)

A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers united in a common faith and the fellowship that proceeds from it. The purpose of the church is to clearly represent Christ in the midst of a fallen world, proclaiming His gospel to the ends of the earth. The New Testament speaks also of the church as the Body of Christ which includes all the redeemed of all the ages, believers from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
(Matthew 16:15-19; Acts 2:41-42, 47; 5:11-14; Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:19-22; Colossians 1:18)
Baptism is an ordinance and command given by Jesus Christ to His churches. Baptism symbolizes union to Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. True baptism is immersion in water in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Baptism may only be administered to those who demonstrate repentance from sin and make a credible profession of faith in Christ.
(Acts 2:37-41; 8:12-13, 36-38, 22:16; Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12).
The Lord’s Supper is an ordinance and command given by Jesus Christ to His churches to commemorate His death and anticipate His return. It is observed by baptized believers with the elements of bread and the fruit of the vine to symbolize His body and His blood.
(Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17, 11:23-34).
The Lord’s Day is celebrated on the first day of the week to commemorate the resurrection of Christ from the dead. It is a time of Christian assembly in His churches for worshipping God, exhortation through the preaching and teaching of His word, and fellowship amongst His people. Obedience to this command is essential to the mutual edification of every believer.
(Acts 5:4; 1 Corinthians 12:14–27; Hebrews 3:12, 13, 10:24, 25; Acts 11:29, 30; Ephesians 4:28, 6:4).
