School Philosophy and Mission

The Weekday Preschool is an extension of our ministry to families by the First Baptist Church. We provide a literature based education to children ages 2 through to 6. To effectively work toward the common purpose of fulfilling the Great Commission, we commit to the following goals: to provide a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment that encourages each child to develop mentally, physically, spiritually, socially and emotionally and to provide a ministry to families and a witness of Christ and His church.

Our goal is to provide a positive first school experience. We want all of our children to be successful. We believe in working on the important basics for any education program such as listening, following directions, sharing, sitting for appropriate times at circle, using words to express themselves, and learning social skills to make friends and have successful play experiences.

Classroom curriculum reflects a well-rounded balance of cognitive, social, emotional, physical and spiritual development. In order to enrich the learning experience, group and individual activities are conducted both indoors and outdoors. Field trips and special events are planned in all of the classes. Chapel is once a week and rotates from Wednesday to Thursday in order to accommodate our MDO babies.
